July 29th, 2026 in Grand Rapids, MI at the Acrisure Theater marked 5 Seconds of Summer’s 53rd show of the Everyone’s A Star World Tour, and I can easily say that this tour has been my all-time favorite to attend since seeing them live dating all the way back to 2016.
Before the show even began, you could instantly feel the energy bouncing off of every single attendee, no matter who they were here for. Everyone was dressed to the 9s - floods of hot pink, glitter, and feather boas surrounded the entire venue. Some fans in the pit were handing out freebies, including stickers and photocards of the 5SOS members to commemorate the night.
The first opener was Haiden Henderson, a Northern California native with a indie alt-rock style. Going into this show, I was not familiar with Haiden and his music but after his set had ended, he for sure gained a new fan out of me. His energy was powerful enough to get the night started, and put everyone in the best mood to keep the show going. Before ending his set, Haiden had told everyone about his journey and how 5SOS inspired him to be the artist he is today. It was very touching to listen to, knowing how this small band from Australia has turned into role models for so many.
Up next was The Band Camino for their 40 minute set, and the crowd had the energy bouncing off every wall. Going into this show, I was not very familiar with The Band Camino’s music, but after hearing “What Am I Missing?” and “Told You So”, they have turned me into a fan and I have already downloaded their entire discography. It was so fun to see them recognize fans in the crowd that have seen them in past shows while performing with such energy and enthusiasm as if it was the opening night of the tour.
As soon as 5 Seconds of Summer stepped out onto the stage, pink limousine in tow of course, the fun never stopped until the very last song was over. Opening the show with “NOT OK” was such a powerful move on their part, as it encapsulates the band’s talents so well on so many levels. The show carried us through 4 different sections, each one of them bringing out fun VCR’s and videos to capture some behind the scenes humor that we all know and love from these 4 men.
Halfway through the show was the infamous “Secret Song” choice - where they bring out a chosen VIP ticket holder to reveal the #1 fan voted song of the night. For this show, our song options for our pre-show poll were “End Up Here”, “Start Over”, “What I Like About You”, and “Heartbreak Girl”. The winner of the night was “Heartbreak Girl” (so sorry Michael) and the crowd erupted with laughter and cheers.
Throughout the rest of the night, the boys took us on a journey through their musical history which brought tears to many fans’ eyes. As someone who has been a fan since they began in 2014, the night soon became emotional as they performed their ever loved hits “She Looks So Perfect” and “Amnesia” from their early days as a band. It is very refreshing to see a band stick together for this long and still absolutely love what they do each and every night.
With their 15th anniversary headed our way soon, it’s clear to see that 5 Seconds of Summer plan on continuing their legacy and creating music for those who belong, those who felt “seen”. As Michael always says - Real Fans Save Bands, and Real Bands Save Fans.
