A Sunday night in Denver, Colorado, downtown and the streets are surprisingly busy despite the upcoming workday. Guided by the smell of fresh pizza served right within the walls of the venue, I find my way to the Marquis Theater with ease.
Minutes before the start of the show, the venue is getting packed out and as Beeson hits the stage, she catches everyone’s attention. With a mix of her wit and her talent for the guitar, she had the crowd entranced as she introduced a special Loop Pedal (accessory for instruments) that her dad gifted her that allows her vocals to harmonize to her guitar. After a heartwarming set where Beeson really connected with the crowd, it was time for Shallow Alcove.
Coming straight from a basketball game at the Ball Arena, where the Denver Nuggets unfortunately lost, and off a couple of Espresso Martinis, Shallow Alcove took the stage. They were getting comfortable on stage and cracking jokes, and even got a little loose by taking their shoes off and dancing around. They kept the crowd engaged and dancing all while keeping the songs and energy flowing throughout their set. After their set was over, a fan in the crowd handed them a slice of pizza to enjoy after their set, a very sweet moment of community.

After their set, I met with them by the merch booth to check out the handmade merch designed by Grace from Shallow Alcove and Beeson. They had custom CD’s, posters, stickers, and more, taking the time to individualize each fan’s experience when purchasing an item. They really had the coolest designs and were very intentional about their work both on and off the stage. Both Beeson and Shallow Alcove have their distinct branding and it is so inspiring to see it come to life and watch them interact within their curated worlds.
