HAYLA ★
A beautiful melodic instrumental plays and there is still chatter everywhere. Everyone's excitement rises as the time gets closer to 10pm. Then just like that, the lights are off and fans are screaming with their hands in the air anticipating the start of the opening track.. A beautiful green & blue shine down, and HAYLA is on stage.
Before the show, I got the opportunity to sit down with HAYLA and talk about her new album, Dark, and the process of making the record which you can check out → HERE
When speaking with HAYLA, she had so much compassion and kindness towards her fans and her team–speaking very highly of them all. I got to catch her opener Ellla Rosa who is a DJ and vocalist. During my entire time with HAYLA, she had nothing but nice things to say about Ella Rosa, we even heard the beginning of her set towards the end of the interview, and HAYLA’s eyes lit up! She was the perfect opener and they matched each other's talent very well & she absolutely hyped the crowd with those vocals & amazing DJ skills.
Now it was time for HAYLA. The show opened with Heal, which as HAYLA said during her show, is the whole point of the show. She wanted for people to heal with her and understand her emotions during her time writing this album and to feel with her. She still had callbacks to those classic tracks from Dusk like “Freefall” and other featured projects, like “Faded” and “Another World”. The use of her lights matching with the songs as well as the order of the setlist were incredible! Not one time did I not see the crowd moving, grooving, and singing along. As I moved through the venue to capture different angles of the show, people were feeling those emotions even from the back. The closing song, before the encore, was the title track “Dark.” I got to watch this from the back and I could see the sea of community, feeling, and understanding of this song. It was beautiful to witness. For the finale, she closed with “Shiver”, the song she is featured on with John Summit. The crowd crescendoed into fun dance vibes with everyone leaving the show smiling and talking about how amazing HAYLA was.
